GAME DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Serious Games Development

Interactive experiences for training, education and decision practice, with learning objectives that can be evaluated.

Production shaped around your requirements

Serious games development begins with an observable learning or operational outcome. The experience may use scenarios, practice, feedback and safe repetition to help participants make better decisions. Content experts, accessibility requirements and evaluation methods belong in the production brief alongside gameplay and visual direction.

Translate objectives into decisions

A serious game should give the learner meaningful actions related to the desired outcome. Replacing a presentation with points and badges does not automatically create learning. Discovery identifies the decisions to practice, the context in which they matter and the evidence that would demonstrate progress.

Subject-matter experts remain part of the design process. Their review validates scenarios, terminology and feedback. The production plan allocates time for that review rather than treating factual accuracy as a final content check.

Design feedback and assessment together

The experience can include branching situations, guided practice, simulation, reflection and assessment. Feedback should explain why a decision matters and give the learner a useful next step. Scoring rules must match the learning objective rather than rewarding rapid clicking or irrelevant completion.

Accessibility, language, device availability and the delivery environment shape the design. Integration with learning systems or enterprise identity is scoped where required, with data minimisation and reporting access considered early.

Evaluate the intended result

A pilot can test comprehension, usability and the fit between the simulation and real-world practice. The project should not claim a learning improvement before an appropriate evaluation has been performed. Operational deployment includes maintenance of changing source material and a process for correcting content.

Provide the learning objectives, audience, subject expertise, delivery setting and assessment needs. We use these to define a playable approach and a validation plan before expanding the content library.

Planning your engagement

What should we include in an initial brief?

Describe the intended audience, core player experience, target platforms, reference games, available IP or code, budget range and launch priorities. Identify the requirements that are fixed and those you want us to help resolve. We use this to determine the next scoping decisions.

What is included in the production proposal?

The proposal records the agreed scope, assumptions, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, review process and commercial terms. Source access, IP rights, third-party costs and post-launch responsibilities are defined for the specific engagement. Submitting an enquiry does not order paid work.
