Establish a visual system
Art direction defines silhouettes, materials, colour relationships, lighting and the role of detail. A representative scene combines these decisions with the actual camera and interface. This reveals whether the direction remains readable during gameplay and on the smallest target display.
Concept images communicate intention; production assets must also satisfy topology, rigging, memory and integration requirements. The proposal distinguishes these deliverables so the client knows what can be used directly in the game.
Build an efficient asset pipeline
Asset naming, source formats, import settings, LODs, collision, materials and animation conventions are agreed before large batches begin. Technical art connects visual ambition with the engine’s performance budget. Shaders, VFX, occlusion and post-processing are reviewed in representative scenes.
Animation work may include character movement, combat, facial performance, cinematics or environmental motion. Each requires reference, review and acceptance criteria tied to its role in the experience.
Track provenance and integration
The delivery register distinguishes original work, client-provided assets and licensed third-party material. Usage rights, source availability and redistribution restrictions are recorded. Art acceptance includes in-engine inspection, not only attractive renders.
Provide the target visual quality, engine, platforms, camera perspective and expected content quantities. A small benchmark set can establish the quality bar and the full production cost of an integrated asset before the catalogue expands.
Planning your engagement
What should we include in an initial brief?
Describe the intended audience, core player experience, target platforms, reference games, available IP or code, budget range and launch priorities. Identify the requirements that are fixed and those you want us to help resolve. We use this to determine the next scoping decisions.
What is included in the production proposal?
The proposal records the agreed scope, assumptions, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, review process and commercial terms. Source access, IP rights, third-party costs and post-launch responsibilities are defined for the specific engagement. Submitting an enquiry does not order paid work.
