2D Game Development

Distinctive 2D worlds, precise interaction and production-ready asset pipelines.

Readability before volume

A 2D game depends on silhouette, motion, timing and visual hierarchy. Pixel art, hand-drawn animation, vector artwork and layered environments each create different pipeline requirements. We define a representative scene and player interaction before expanding the asset list. The result is an art and animation specification tied to the actual game view.

Movement and systems

Platforming, combat, puzzles, inventories, dialogue and progression need consistent rules and immediate feedback. Animation state, collision shapes, camera behaviour and input buffering are considered together. A small playable slice can test the feel of movement and the clarity of hazards before dozens of levels are built.

A practical content pipeline

Sprites, atlases, tile sets and animation exports should be reproducible. Resolution targets, pixel scaling, localization space and effects budgets belong in the technical brief. Mobile memory constraints and controller or keyboard navigation require separate checks even when the same source artwork is used.

From levels to release

The production plan specifies level counts, reusable systems, tools for content editing and the scope of balancing. Device and platform testing should include aspect ratios, save behaviour and accessibility settings. Ownership of original art and licences for fonts, audio and middleware are recorded for handover.
